Job Description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and creative individual to lead our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring a high standard of quality.

Kitchen Operations

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and taste.
  • Develop, plan, and update menus according to seasonality and business needs.
  • Ensure timely preparation and service during operating hours.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff (Sous Chefs, Chef de Partie, Commis, and Kitchen Assistants).
  • Prepare staff schedules and manage attendance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development.
  • Maintain a positive, disciplined, and efficient kitchen environment.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Enforce HACCP standards and health & safety policies.
  • Conduct regular checks on kitchen cleanliness and equipment maintenance.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Manage food costing, portion control, and wastage reduction.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and ensure quality of raw materials.
  • Work within budget and control kitchen expenses.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with management and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle customer feedback and special requests professionally.
  • Support events, promotions, and special menus when required.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.

  • Culinary degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of Culinary Arts or any related field
